Gibson 2010 Custom Shop - Dave Johnson Ultra Aged Les Paul Plaintop Reissue
(Item#546) Just in from Dave Johnson, "The Dirty Lemon Bar Fly", a 2010 ultra aged plaintop Les Paul reissue. The guitar started as a brand new 2010 '57 goldtop and the original serial number is stamped in the control cavity, the headstock now has a 5 digit '58 serial number. With the Grover tuners the guitar weighs 9 lbs. This guitar got the full treatment including: complete refinish and heavy aging, top carve, vintage accurate neck shape and measures: 1st fret - .870", 12th fret - .968", a vintage style truss rod, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and aged real celluloid inlays, all of the edges of the headstock were also softened (the headstock edges are much too sharp on the new guitars). I asked Dave to make it look like it had been in the stinky, grungy bars for 40 years and he killed it!! The best heavily aged guitar I have seen to date. Lots of time and effort went into many little details in the aging of this guitar!! The more you look at the pictures, the more little things you will pickup on like the imprint of the knob pointers in the finish, a dirty fingerboard to match the rest of the guitar with a little bit of wear in the wood at the first few frets. This thing really blows me away and I've seen a lot of guitars! Here's a list of the parts on the guitar: original harness, pots and caps, a set of WCR Fillmore pickups with an old set of naturally aged nickel covers that I had been saving for a special project, Area 59 pickup rings aged by Dave, a heavily aged pickguard made by Dave, a set of black plastic backplates also made by Dave, Monster Relic: Burst knobs, poker chip, bridge posts and thumbwheels, RS Guitarworks steel studs and inserts, Area 59 stoptail aged by Dave, a set of CreamTone aged nickel Grover tuners, rolled plastic truss rod cover, original no-wire ABR-1 bridge that I took completely apart and aged, all of the saddles have been reshaped, rounded over and have brass showing to replicate playing wear. (Item#488)(as new condition) Dealer ordered 2013 '51 Nocaster in Faded 2-Tone Sunburst, 7 lbs 2 ounces, Nocaster "U" neck that measures: 1st fret - .949", 12th fret - .987". Here are the options the guitar was ordered with: sort for lightweight ash body, Quartersawn maple neck, 9.5" fingerboard radius and Dunlop 6105 fret wire, bone nut, Gatton compensated bridge saddles, single layer white guard, modern tele wiring, Nocaster pickups. Great looking color and the ash has some figure in it, great sounding Nocaster that's big and full sounding, bottom end is full and round but single low notes have good ring and definition, guitar has a good amount of midrange and gets a great lead tone on the bridge pickup, no problem covering any classic rock tunes but still has enough traditional twang, middle and neck position are very strat like, comes with 2- cases, all paperwork, certificate and case candy.

Marshall 1969 100w Plexi Super Lead Head
(Item#465)(consignment) 1969 100w Plexi Super Lead head from right towards the end of the Plexi panel era, very straight and original circuit, reissue white logo but should have gold faced logo, the ohms selector is very questionable as far as being original but I can't say for sure that it's not, amp is in good working order and very clean cosmetically. Real BIG and bold sounding amp like you'd expect, tithan earlier Plexi heads but not as bright or aggressive as most metal panel heads. Comes with a road case that it will be shipped in.

Woody and warm sounding strat with a good amount of midrange, bridge pickup is very usable and gets a good tele like tone, still has some twang and rings well, comes with all paperwork, certificate, case candy and brown tolex reissue case.
