(Item#273) 2011 Gibson Custom Shop - Dave Johnson Full Makeover 1960 Les Paul Reissue

$16,000.00

(Item#273) 2011 Custom Shop - Dave Johnson full Makeover 1960 reissue, I bought this guitar brand new in 2011, immediately knew it was a great guitar and sent it Dave Johnson. Killer looking flame maple top in Darkburst finish, complete refinish with light aging and finish checking, top carve, vintage style truss rod, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with DJ aged celluloid inlays. I also had Dave go over the headstock and soften the edges a little. Guitar weighs 9 lbs even and has a version 2 style '60 neck that measures: 1st fret - .820", 12th fret - .918". List of aftermarket parts: Duncan Custom Shop double cream bobbin Antiquity pickup set(bridge - 8.1K, neck - 7.32K), Gil Yaron pickup rings, TruVintage aged reflector knobs, poker chip, output jackplate, ABR-1 thumbweels & posts and rolled truss rod cover, RS Guitarworks aged Kluson double ring tuners and aged steel tailpiece studs, Dave Johnson pickguard. All of the stock parts also come with the guitar. This guitar is just outstanding in all ways! It already sounded great but got even better after Dave’s work. Much more alive and really rings acoustically. Big, fat and woody sounding guitar with plenty of tight and focused bottom end, mids are thick and honky, single lead notes on the bridge pickup stay good and fat, top end has some nice sparkle and bite but stays very smooth, guitar is still in the exact condition that it came back from Dave in with very little playing time on it. No extra wear, zero fret wear. Comes with paperwork, Gibson certificate, letter from Dave Johnson and black Gibson Custom case. NOTE: Dave is no longer doing makeover type guitars of any kind as he is moving on to making his own guitars.
