NEW MGL AmpWorks Lead Master Series Single Channel “Purple Circuit” 50w amp head built on our new chassis that pays tribute to the classis 2204. The “Purple Circuit” is our popular hot rodded 2204 based amp that we’ve been building for 6 years. A versatile 50w single channel master volume amp that covers many tones, from ‘70’s classic rock to ‘80’s rock & metal. The hybrid Purple Circuit combines tones from “Plexi”, “Metal Panel” & “JCM” era amps that we all love. From the smooth and sweet distorted tones of a decked Plexi to the attitude & aggressiveness of JMP - JCM. Very reactive and touch sensitive to your hands and cleans up well by just rolling back your guitar volume. Stock 2204 high & low sensitivity input jacks. This new version has some nice added features. Front panel: The first mini switch to the right of the Master volume is for Gain Level, in the down (VIN) position you can get close to the gain of a stock 2204, and in the up (MOD) position you get the added gain of the Purple Circuit, 2nd mini switch to the right is a 3-way bright switch, down is the stock value bright cap, in the middle there is no bright cap and with the switch up it’s a value at about half way. Back panel includes a “Zero Loss” effects loop w/ true bypass switch, 2nd switch in the up position will engage a Jose style diode clipping Saturation circuit and last switch to the right is the Voicing switch that we use on all of our amps, in the Vintage position you get a warmer, sweeter and more compressed tone and in the modern position you get a tighter, brighter & more aggressive tone. These amps come stock in a custom Swanson Cabinets 26” late ‘70’s JMP style head cab as seen in the pictures, 26” or 24” Plexi style head cab is also an option at no up-charge, and as always we offer many tolex colors available at no up-charge (unlike the big companies that get $200.00 just for a custom color!!) These amps use a lower voltage power transformer like the late ‘70’s thru ‘81 Marshall 2204’s which makes for a warmer, fatter and more woody tone. We can also use our higher voltage 100w power transformer for a tighter, faster and more aggressive tone to match the higher voltage change that Marshall made in 1982.

  Customer Amp Build Info

  We only build to order and make around 30-50 amps a year. So each amp is built one at a time for each customer. When the amp build starts we order your head cab and or speaker cab with Swanson Cabinets who also builds to order. This allows you choices in the style and looks of the cab so you get what you want. Each amp is like a one-off Custom Shop build. To order an amp and reserve a build spot, we get a $500.00 non-refundable deposit. We try to stick to very accurate estimated build times and never take more deposits for more amps than we can build in a reasonable time frame of 2-8 weeks.
